An Overview of the Crestwood Library Program

Library Mission Statement

The Crestwood Library exists to:

• Support the FCPS Elementary School Program of Studies and the Virginia Standards of Learning with appropriate materials
•Provide students with materials to encourage and enhance a love of reading
•Assist students in becoming independent library users
•Assist teachers in their pursuit of professional growth

The goal of the Crestwood Library is to help students feel comfortable using the library and its resources and to enjoy and appreciate literature in all its forms.

To that end the library offers:

•Book check-out for all students
•Weekly library classes for students at all grade levels
•Annual participation in the Virginia Readers Choice program
•Books talks
•Author study units
