Ms. Person is delighted to be the principal at Crestwood Elementary School. She loves being in the field of education and has been an educator in Fairfax County Public Schools for more than twenty years. She currently holds a B.S. degree in elementary education, an M.A. degree in Reading, and an Ed.S. degree in administration. Ms. Person has had a variety of teaching positions. As a classroom teacher, she taught sixth grade at Mosby Woods and Green Acres and Gifted and Talented fourth grade at Belvedere. She was a reading teacher at Cherry Run Elementary, and a Title I teacher at Lynbrook Elementary School and Lacey Center. She also worked in the Language Arts Office as an instructional support teacher at Lacey Center. Prior to coming to Crestwood, Ms. Person was the assistant principal at Riverside Elementary School for four years. She is ready for the wonderful opportunity to lead Crestwood!
Ms. Person was born in North Carolina where she attended elementary school, high school, and college. She moved to Virginia after marrying her husband, Dr. Carl Person. Carl is employed with NASA (National Aeronautics Space Association) as a program administrator. Frequently he will visit the school where Ms. Person works to talk to the students about his exciting career concerning his work with scientists, educators, and astronauts. Ms. Person has a wonderful daughter, Cara, who is a recent master’s graduate from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Cara resides in Albany, New York and works at the New York State Department of Health where she is an epidemiology fellow with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The Person family loves traveling and vacationing together. Some of their favorite places to visit include The Virgin Islands, Belgium, and various places throughout the United States. Ms. Person also enjoys reading and singing. She boasts of a large selection of professional books and children’s books on shelves and in boxes that she shares with children, staff members, parents, and friends. She frequently sings at weddings, in the church choir, and with the staff and students at Crestwood. Her theme and focus is “Yes, We Can!"

Ms. McDonald is very excited to be back at Crestwood this year. Ms. McDonald has a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision. She has lived in many different places including Taichung, Taiwan, and speaks conversational Chinese. Ms. McDonald is very proud of her three children. Her oldest son is an Arabic linguist in the army, her daughter is an art teacher, and her youngest son is studying engineering. Ms. McDonald's experiences include teaching in an American school in Taiwan, working with Reading Recovery for Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS), organizing classes for prisoners in the city jail, and serving as Coordinator for GED and ABE for VBCPS. She came to Crestwood from Glen Forest Elementary School, an FCPS modified calendar school, where she was the Intersession Coordinator. She lives with her husband, Dr. McDonald, and Jazzie, her dog, and enjoys sailing and gardening.
Ms. Farabaugh is a native Virginian as was her mother before her. She has only lived in two places in her life. Ms. Farabaugh went to Mount Vernon Elementary School in Alexandria, then to Washington Irving Middle School. She graduated from West Springfield High School. Ms. Farabaugh lives in the house that her parents owned and has lived there for more than thirty seven years. Ms. Farabaugh is married and has two wonderful children, a boy and a girl. Both of her children also graduated from West Springfield High School. Ms. Farabaugh's hobbies are cooking, watching craft shows, old movies, and shows that involve history. She also loves to collect Coca Cola items and items that are Irish. One of her favorite things to do is to go to Williamsburg and listen to our history. Ms. Farabaugh is of Irish decent and proud of it. She has gone to Ireland three times and was able to visit the place where her ancestors started their journey to the United States. Ms. Farabaugh is very happy to be here at Crestwood.
Mr. Hudspath - Administrative Assistant

Mr. Pacheco serves as our Parent Liaison and our Community Outreach Coordinator. He was born and grew up in La Paz, Bolivia. Mr. Pacheco moved to the United States and, in the '70s, became an American citizen. He has a background in hotel management and his hobbies include soccer and tennis. He has one grown son. He has worked part time at Crestwood for several years, but is now at the school full time. Mr. Pacheco has been a recipient of the Bob Westmoreland Award for community service.
