Directions for using weCare
Information should be reviewed and updated, if necessary, through your ParentView account on Blackboard no later than September 4, 2012. To view/update your Emergency Care information log in to your ParentView account and click on the Enter weCare@school link.

If you don't have a ParentView account please follow the directions for creating one.
**Health Form


All students must complete and print the the Health Form. Return the form to QST teacher on the first day of school.

Inhaler Form
Students requiring medication, an Epi-pen, and/or an inhaler must return the printed form with a parent to the school's clinic aide.
Bus Schedules
For safety reasons, bus schedules are not posted on the internet.  Routes and schedules can be accessed on Blackboard through ParentView in the Cooper's Online Parent Information course. (Now Posted!)
FCPS Grading Policy

 

FCPS Privacy & Opt Out Forms In accordance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), FCPS has provided opt out forms pertaining to student records and privacy.  Forms need only be signed and returned to exempt your child from any of the activities.
FCPS Family Life Education Opt Out Forms Family life curriculum materials may be reviewed in the school library.  Forms need only be signed and returned to exempt your student from all or part of this curriculum. If completing a form make sure to scroll down the page and choose the form for your child's grade level.

FCPS Food Services Lunch will be served at Cooper MS.
Free and reduced price meal applications are mailed to all households annually. If you do not receive an application in the mail or if you experience an income or household size change, an application is available at your local school or contact Food and Nutrition Services at 703-813-4800 or 703-813-4844.
Student Insurance Student health and accident insurance is available.  Applications are available online or may be picked up in the front office.

2012-13 Back to School Newsletter The first newsletter of the year with important information about Cooper Middle School.
**After School Activities Form All students and parents must sign the acknowledgement form indicating their understanding of the consequences of alcohol and other drug use on and off-campus and during the after-school hours.  No student may participate in any clubs, athletic, activities without a signed acknowledged form on file in the After School Specialists office.  Return and signed to QST teacher.

Neutral Day The first day of school will be a neutral day and students will see every class. 
QST First Schedule During the first two weeks of school students will start the day with QST first. This schedule will be used September 5-14.
Daily Bell School Drop Block Schedule starting September 17th.
Cooper Calendar The Cooper Calendar on the website contains upcoming events for Cooper students and parents. The dates are subject to change, so please refer to it often.
Student Handbook The Cooper Student Handbook includes information such as the Attendance Policy, Dress Code,and Honor Code.

Lunch Money Parents can use MyLunchMoney.com to load money onto their child's lunch card, get low balance alerts, and to view meal purchase history.
Personal Devices (POD) at CMS Please make sure to review the Personal Device (POD) policy at Cooper Middle School. All forms must be filled out in advance and the device must be present when registering a device for use. Registration times will be announced through KIT and morning announcements.

Cooper MS PTO Information

One Form, One Check Membership, Fundraising, Directory and Volunteering.

1. Join the Cooper PTO which gives you voting rights on all issues before the PTO and a free copy of the student directory.
2. The fundraising money collected by the PTO enriches the education experience of all Cooper students.
3. Share your time and expertise with the students, faculty, and staff by volunteering. 
Student Directory information This year Cooper is working with A to Z Directories to create our student directory.  All student data will be verified online, and there will be no paper forms to return to the school.  Emails requesting verification of student information will begin to go out to parents shortly after school begins.  Further details will be coming soon on how to enter and/or update your information.  As in previous years, you will still be able to opt out of the directory if you wish.   All PTO members will receive 1 print copy of the student directory and access to the secure school directory app for your smart phone.  Any questions, please contact Angela Proxmire, Cooper Student Directory Chairperson at aproxmire@gmail.com.
