First graders will work on an inquiry-based research project in social studies and language arts. This project will help us to review all of the interesting famous Americans we have learned about since kindergarten. The essential question first graders need to answer is: What makes a good leader? Students will think about the character traits that make a good leader. Then they will find examples of how these leaders showed those traits.
