Cherry Run Kindergarten is a happy place to be! Mrs. Patchan and Mrs. Nolan love their children and truly enjoy working with them every day! Our children love writing and illustrating in their journals. We believe we may have some famous authors someday! Books are precious in kindergarten! The children enjoy participating in the Book It/Pizza Read reading incentive program, take-home -reading, book talk presentations, and reading together from our class big books and rookie readers.
Patterning and beginning addition and subtraction are two popular units in Mathematics. The students are actively involved with story problems and use many hands-on manipulatives in this important subject area! Science inspires the curiosity of our young scientists in active units on topics such as sink and float, pumpkins, recycling, magnets, and ants. We traditionally visit the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History to view the insect zoo. We always hope for fair weather when we set off on our annual visit to the National Zoo.
Kindergarten is a busy, fun, and positive place to be! We hope you enjoyed hearing about a few of our many highlights. Keep on reading! Books are treasures! Practice writing every day! Let the world hear what you have to say! |
