| Band is for 5th and 6th graders and they can start in either grade. The instruments you blow on and make rhythm with are lots of fun and you learn so much music! The band director helps you to pick an instrument that you will be happy with and successful in playing. You get to play in concerts in the spring for your friends and parents. If you wish, 5th and 6th graders can enter the state Solo and Ensemble Festival and possibly earn a medal...like the "Band Olympics"! Many have entered and earned medals from our school, each year! Sixth grade, 2nd year students, are eligible to be invited in Area Honor Band. This group meets on Monday afternoons and prepares a separate concert to be performed in April. As you get older, you can perform in more concerts and events at Lake Braddock Intermediate and High School! The band program there is world famous and YOU can eventually be a part of it! The program at Cherry Run is FUN and you play lots of great music, here, also! |
