A Message from the PTSA President
Dear Chantilly High School Families:
Welcome back to another great year at your Chantilly High School! The PTSA is here to help you and teachers raise and educate teenagers and prepare them for adulthood. By joining the PTSA you help raise educational standards and ensure that your student succeeds.
We hope our “One Form, One Check” page will make it simpler for you to join the PTSA, order a directory and make donations. Use the volunteer form to tell us how you’d like to help. Please review the proposed PTSA budget and legislative ballot and cast your votes. Return your forms and ballots via your student’s first period teacher or mail them to the address below.
Visit our web site at www.chantillyhsptsa.org to get information about PTSA activities. Meeting notices, newsletters, All Night Grad Party news, volunteer opportunities, Reflections program winners and legislative items will be posted there. Forms, ballots and surveys are also available for downloading. Watch for announcements of programs on a variety of issues, including teen parenting, Fairfax County school policies, and town halls with local elected officials.
Sign up to receive the on-line newsletter, which is produced monthly by the PTSA and Chantilly High School. Register with “Keep in Touch” at www.fcps.edu and then choose “Chantilly High School” to receive this and other school-specific information. (If you would rather receive a printed copy, contact the office of KT Lynch, Subschool 3 Principal, at 703-222-8130 or email her at Kathleen.Lynch1@fcps.edu.)
There are many ways you can help, and you can choose the manner that best fits your lifestyle. Perhaps you could tutor students Saturday mornings with the STEP program; or proctor SAT, AP or SOL tests; cook a special dish for the teacher luncheon; help with a PTSA sponsored program like the All Night Grad Party. Find a way that works for you – you’ll be rewarded by knowing you made a difference.
It’s important that the PTSA remain vital in our community. Please contact me personally and let me know how the PTSA can better serve you, your children and their teachers. I look forward to working with you this year.
Sincerely,
Ted Velkoff
