The Fairfax Country Public Schools Guidance Program provides comprehensive and sequential service to students in grades K-12. Primary objectives of the FCPS Guidance Programs are to:

Assist students with their individual academic/career and social/emotional abilities and needs.
Assist students to assess interest and aptitudes and to relate these to college and career goals.
Aid Teachers and parents in understanding individual students.
Provide students with educational, occupational, personal development information to aid in decision-making.
Improve communication between the school and the home.
Coordinate efforts of the school, special education services, and community resources to provide services to students.
Provide effective individual and group counseling experiences to meet student needs.
Provide smooth orientation that assist students in moving from grade to grade, from elementary to middle school, middle to high school and from high school to college or work.
