Financial Aid and Scholarships
(Last updated 08/18/2008)
The most comprehensive site for Chantilly High School students
seeking scholarships & financial aid advice is the Fairfax
County Public Schools Scholarship Database.
There are several ways to use this site, whether you seek an
alphabetical listing of scholarships or organization by deadline
for the application. For more information on how to use this
program, please refer to this link
on the FCPS Scholarship Website Instructions (PDF file).
The section “Links to Additional
Information” (http://www.fcps.edu/ssseapps/scholarshipdb/assist.cfm)
offers numerous resources that can be used by students and parents,
like financial aid vocabulary, early financial estimators, and
a link to the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
Other Important Links:
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal
Student Aid) www.fafsa.ed.gov
This is the first step in the financial aid process and this
website will link you to the actual FAFSA form and a frequently
asked questions page. Families can begin filing the FAFSA on
January 1st for the next academic year and deadlines will vary
from school to school. Some scholarships that are awarded by
colleges and other sources require that a student have a FAFSA
on file, regardless of the actual need.
The best way to ensure that you will qualify for all available
awards is to apply as early as possible.
CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE https://profileonline.collegeboard.com/index.jsp
About 600 colleges and universities use the CSS Financial Aid
PROFILE form to determine eligibility for nonfederal student aid
funds. Some scholarship programs also use the PROFILE form as
well.
