Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)

Description of Club:
|
The purpose of the FBLA is to develop leadership, promote
civic and personal responsibilities and to learn more about
the business world. Students attend monthly meetings and are
provided with many opportunites to contribute to the school
and community. The highlight of the year is the competition
in business subjects that is held in March; first and second
place winners go to state competition. Northern Virginia leadership
training is usually in the fall and National Southern Leadership
conference in late fall. There are usually at least two fund
raisers and a field trip (or two). Membership is open to all
business students.
*Note: an FBLA membership card entitles students and their
parents to discounts off major hotels and car rentals.

FBLA sponsors Business Honor Society
Service Project = Project ASK |
FBLA sponsors the Business Honor Society - an academic honor
society open to Business students in grades 10-12. See
Business Honor Society Page
FBLA's service project is Project ASK - a nonprofit organization
in Virginia that supports children and teens with cancer.
We are not allowed to collect monetary donations, but each
year, FBLA conducts a campaign to encourage our students and
their parents to donate new unwrapped items for children and
teens with cancer. This year's collection campaign runs from
November 19 - December 7, 2007. Please bring donations to
any business teacher and pick up your tax-deductible receipt. |

FBLA officers attended and ran the NOVA Fall
Regional Conference at Marymount University on Oct. 9. |

FBLA participated in Homecoming by selling
Chargers tattoos and football beads in the cafeteria and during
the spirit rally |

As the reginal FBLA chapter for 2007-2008,
Chantilly FBLA hosted the Fall Fall Regional conference and
Marymount University and ran some of the workshops |

Two officers and one advisor attended the
Fall National FBLA conference in Birmingham, AL on Nov. 16-18 |

FBLA officers formed a family to play on Chantilly's Family Feud on December 6 |
