academic performance and
are used as a means of reporting
achievement relative to
curriculum objectives. Grades
do not measure potential
or social performance; grades
are not used as a punitive
device.
The new Fairfax County Public
Schools’ grading
scale (effective Fall 2009) is as follows:

PROMOTION POLICY
The minimum requirements
for placement in high school
grades are as follows:
9: The student must be promoted from 8th
grade and have passed the Virginia Literacy
Test.
10: Earn 5 credits
11: Earn 11 credits
12: Have a planned program providing for
sufficient credits to enable him or her
to graduate the following June or August
WITHDRAWAL POLICY
If a student drops a course
during the:
1st quarter No penalty and nothing is recorded
2nd quarter WP (withdrawn passing) or WF
(withdrawn failing) is recorded
3rd quarter WP or WF is recorded
4th quarter WP or F for failure is recorded |
