Revised standard units of credit required for graduation took effect
with the Class of 2002. Verified units of credit will take effect
with the Class of 2004. Many members of the Class of 2004 will
enter high
school with one or two verified credits, based on completion of
high school mathematics courses and passing corresponding EOC
tests. Verified units require satisfactory completion of the
courses
and passing related SOL tests. Students in the 9th grade in 2000-1,
2001-2, 2002-3
are required to pass 2 English, plus 4 others. Students in the
ninth grade in 2003-4 and beyond are required to pass 2 English,
1 mathematics,
1 science, 1 history and social science, and 1 of student's choice.
