PREAMBLE:
The Chantilly High School community believes that for all to live and work together we must foster and protect a spirit of trust, intellectual honesty, and respect among students, faculty and parents. Academic integrity is an attribute that everyone in our learning community should cherish. The Chantilly High School Code of Academic Integrity will serve as an educational tool to reinforce the expectation that all students will demonstrate integrity in their academic conduct.
The Chantilly High School Code of Academic Integrity defines the expected standards of conduct in academic affairs. It is designed to foster an open and supportive environment of personal and community growth. This commitment by all students not to cheat, plagiarize, or lie, nor tolerate those who do, becomes a vital part of each individual's responsibility. Therefore, students will always commit themselves to make the correct academic choices and to work together to influence others to make the right academic decisions.
OBJECTIVE:
The objective of the Chantilly High School Code of Academic Integrity is to promote honesty and integrity in all academic endeavors, to ensure the integrity of our assessments and grading system, and to educate those who violate the policy.
STATEMENT OF POLICY:
Recognizing that academic integrity is central to attaining our goal of creating a positive and effective learning environment at Chantilly High School, we find any breach of academic integrity unacceptable and a violation of this policy.
Charger in Good Standing
A Charger in Good Standing is a student who earns C's or better in all classes, has no unexcused absences, no excessive unexcused tardiness, and no discipline that would warrant either in–school or out-of-school suspensions as CHARGERS.
