(May 2012) Tara and Minh, both graduates from Chantilly Academy Dental Careers program, graduated from VCU as Nationally Borad Certified Dental Hygenists.
On December 14, 2011Chantilly Academy Criminal Justice 2005 graduate and current Fairfax County Deputy 1st class, Emily Fary, gave a meaningful presentation to the criminal Justice students about what it takes to be employed not only with the Fairfax County Sherrif's Department, but in any career. Emily is pictured above (3rd from right) with her criminal justice instructor, Ron Keaton, and current Academy students.
In its first year in 2008 – 2009, Independent Research Design students Anisha, Miki, Bethany and Ayse (above) celebrated the new educational partnership with the Center for Space Technologies – US Naval Research Lab (NRL) where they led a Systems Engineering initiative for an NRL CubeSat.
Today, Bethany is completing her BS in Electrical Engineering at MIT, and Aysha is completing her BS in Aerospace Engineering at University of Virginia. Both young women will graduate this Spring of 2012!
Joshua Marder – Class of 2008 Specialist, Signal Support Systems Specialist US Army Reserves
Joshua was a member of the Chantilly High School and Chantilly Academy Class of 2008. As an Academy student, Joshua completed the two-year AFJROTC program and Computer Systems Technology (A+) earning his CompTIA A+ Certification. In just a matter of days after his high school graduation day, he entered the US Army.
In September 2008, he was graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Based at Fort Gordon, GA, he received specialist training as a Signal Support System Specialist. Joshua completed his specialist training in late December 2008, and joined a US Army Reserve Unit in Riverdale Park, MD. In November 2009, he was called up to serve in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He returned home in August 2010 to complete his tour of duty.
To further his postsecondary education in Information Technology, Joshua enrolled at Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) and then transferred to ITT Technical Institute in Chantilly, VA where he is pursuing an Associates of Applied Sciences in Network Systems Administration, with plans to continue his studies to earn his Bachelors of Science in Information Systems - Cybersecurity.
Joshua has found his niche as future Information Technology –Cybersecurity specialist serving his country in the US Army.
MIT Men's Basketball made history this season by making it to the NCAA Final Fours for Division 3! Unfortunately, they lost at the semifinals on Friday, March 16th to University of Wisconsin Whitewater, but they had an excellent season and are very proud of their players.
MIT cheerleaders were flown to Salem, VA to support the team – and the squad included Chantilly Academy & Chantilly High School Class of 2010 alumna Danielle Olson! Danielle is a member of the Class of 2014 at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she is pursuing a BS in Computer Science.
