1. To whom do I make my check payable?
Make all checks payable to CVHS.
2. How do I go about purchasing a yearbook at the school?
Please have your son or daughter drop off a check in the main office. It will be placed into Melissa Rife’s school mailbox and processed. When you drop it off, please include a self-addressed envelope if you would like a receipt sent back to you. Please do not try to track down Mrs. Rife, as she changes rooms AND will be on maternity leave through December. Please also write in the memo section, which of the three covers your child
would like!
3. How can I order my yearbook online?
Go to the website www.yearbookforever.com and follow the links to purchase a yearbook online.
4. If I buy a yearbook online, how do I choose which cover I want to order?
Please send an email to Melissa Rife at Melissa.Rife1@fcps.edu and include the student’s name, grade, and cover choice. This information will then be recorded as to which cover choice he/she wants.
5. If I miss the makeup date for senior portraits at school, how can I get my picture taken?
If you miss the day at school to have your picture taken, you can call Lifetouch personally and set up a time to go into their studio. Please be aware that if you are going to do this, you have to have your portrait taken in their studio by December 10 in order to be included in the yearbook.
6. How much does it cost to have a name tag added to my yearbook?
Buying a name tag is an additional $5 to whatever you pay for your yearbook.
7. How much does the yearbook cost for those on free or reduced lunch?
Students who are on free or reduced lunch get a 50% discount on their yearbook. This means that they pay half of whatever the current price of the yearbook is at the time of purchase. In order to receive this discount, the student MUST present the letter that shows that they qualify for free or reduced lunch. Seniors DO NOT receive free yearbooks if they are on free or reduced lunch.
8. How can I submit candid pictures to the yearbook?
Send any pictures you have that you think might be good for the yearbook to Melissa.Rife1@fcps.edu. Alternately, you may also burn them onto a disk and deliver them to Mrs. Rife’s mailbox.
9. How long do I have to order my yearbook?
If you plan on preordering, you must do so by April 1. After that, there will no presales until distribution time.
10. Will there be yearbooks available for purchase when they are given out?
We always order more yearbooks than have been preordered. Thus, there are typically several hundred books that can be purchased at distribution. Be aware that the price at distribution will be higher, however.
11. When do I get my yearbook?
Yearbooks are given out during the first or second week of June. Seniors will receive theirs at the senior picnic and underclassmen begin to receive them at lunch the next day. Sales continue up through the very end of the school year, usually at lunches.

Attention Senior Parents...Centreville High School has a time honored tradition of having parents place senior ads in the yearbook to show how proud they are of their child’s achievements. Finally your time had come. Tell your child how much they mean to you and wish them well as they leave the nest and set out for a successful future. The end of a student’s high school career is an important milestone in one’s life, so give your senior a source of encouragement that they will look back on for years to come.
Cost Color #of photos
Full page ad $325 15-20
½ page ad $175 10
¼ page ad $125 5
1/8 page ad $90 2
We also have an online option. Simply go to www.yearbookforever.com , look up CVHS, and click on the link labeled: buy an ad. This is a faster and more efficient way to send everything in all at once, including pictures and words! This eliminates the chance of lost or damaged pictures and it is a convenient option. However, if you prefer, you may also send in a check payable to CVHS and have it delivered to Melissa Rife’s mailbox in the main office.
Please send pictures and dedications, along with your name and mailing address to the school (address above) care of Melissa Rife. All submissions must be placed in a manila envelope. We will artfully arrange your photos and thoughts into a unique design. Photos may be shrunk to fit the page. If you have a preference, please number the back of the pictures in order of which ones you would like to be the most dominant in the ad (starting with number one). Each ad is allowed up to 150 words (please be aware of the amount of space for each ad and plan accordingly). With a 1/8 page ad, allow for roughly 50 words.
Photos sent for submission, if not sent in through the online sales, may be sent either in their original paper format or, preferably, as digital versions submitted on a CD. Centreville High School will not be held responsible for lost or damaged photos. Please make a duplicate of any photo you feel uncomfortable sending. The yearbook staff has the right to edit or reject the ad based on content (please, no naked baby pictures). In addition to your words and pictures, you MUST fill out this order form and submit it with the ad. This form will allow the staff to keep track of your ad, as well as contact you, in case of questions or problems regarding your ad. A proof can be provided, if you write a note that it is necessary. Unless a problem arises, pictures will be returned back to you by the end of the school year. If there are any questions, please contact the yearbook staff at: (703)802-5400 or email Melissa Rife at Melissa.Rife1@fcps.edu. Thank you!
All materials must be received by November 15th, but please do not hesitate to send materials in early. Any ads received after November 15th, may not be accepted for publication.
