- Congratulations to the boys cross country teams for finishing in 15th place at the Virginia AAA State Meet. This marked the first time in school history the boys had advanced to the state meet.. Senior eading the way for the Wildcats was Senior Yazid Zouaimia earned all state honors by finishing in 8th place overall with a time of 16:02. Also scoring for Centreville were junior Bobby Kelly (62nd, 17:09) followed by seniors Mattson Heiner (78th, 17:19), Ben Salmon (101st, 17:41), and Joey Hannah (102nd, 17:41). Rounding out the state qualifying team were seniors Tom Marotta and Michael Lapuz.
- Theatre Centreville is proud to present Dracula. The show will be performed on November 19, 20, and 21. All performances will begin at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $10. Senior Citizen Preview Night is November 19, with $5 tickets for seniors age 65 and older. This play is not suited for children under twelve years of age. - Centreville High School wide receiver Warren Denny is a finalist for No. VA's Army Iron Man of the Year. Denny was the week one Army Iron Man after making six receptions for 60 yards, with six tackles and one interception on defense, in Centreville's 21-14 win over Annandale. Voting began yesterday, ends midnight 11/29. They count one vote per e-mail address per hour.
- Meet the winter coach night will be held on Monday, November 23 at 6:30 PM in the cafeteria.
- The 2nd annual CVHS Christmas tree sale begins soon! High quality trees will be available at a great price ranging from $55-$65 for 5-8 ft. trees. Sales begin on the Friday after Thanksgiving, between 10am-6pm. The lot of trees will be near the stop light in front of the school. Proceeds will benefit Centreville HS athletic teams.

Seniors and their families are invited to our annual Financial Aid Night on Dec. 2nd (snow date Dec.8th). The program will begin at 7 pm in the the CVHS auditroium and will include information on the FAFSA(Free Application for Federal Student Aid) process along with information on the the CSS Profile, loan programs and scholarship searches.

“Planning for College”, a program for sophomores and parents, will be presented on Thursday, Dec. 10th at 7 pm. in the Auditorium. This program is a great introduction to the college application process and will include such topics as factors that influence admissions decisions,what to look for in a campus visit and how to prepare to apply to college.

- SGA will be running a school wide competition called "Stuff a Track" canned food drive from November 23 - December 4. The competition is being sponsored by 106.7. It will be run through 1st period classes. The winning first period class will earn a breakfast party. Items to bring include such things as canned fruits and vegetables, macaroni and cheese, pasta, 100% fruit juice, soups, and multigrain cereals. All items will be donated ot the Capital Food Bank.

- The PTSA is sponsoring a practice ACT test on December 5th (8AM - 12PM). The ACT is growing in popularity, and frequently,students perform better on the ACT than the SAT. This practice test allows your student to gain confidence in taking the test, but at a substantially lower fee than the actual test. It will be given at Centreville High, and is available to all students. The cost is $15, which includes a follow-up session to help understand how your student performed. That session will be at the high school on December 16 at 7:00. Forms are available in the school office, or it can be downloaded off the PTSA website. Payments should be mailed to the school. - The CVHS Wrestling and Football programs are co-sponsoring the 5th Annual Basket Bingo. With the football season underway and wrestling set to begin shortly, the Teams will begin to sell tickets to this event. Mark your calendars now for Saturday, December 5th from 1:15pm – 4:30pm. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. with the Bingo games starting at 1:15 p.m. There will be great baskets filled with all kinds of seasonal goodies for every bingo game won. You will also be able to buy raffle tickets for special baskets and door prizes will be awarded. Food and drinks will be served. Tickets are $15 each (buy 4 and get 1 free!). All proceeds benefit the CVHS Wrestling and Football Programs.
- The 2010 After Grad party will take place at the ESPN Zone in Washington DC on graduation night, Friday, June 18, 2010. Tickets will be on sale for the advance sale price of $50 on November 23, 24, and 30. - The Centreville Wildcat Band department is happy to announce its annual citrus sale. Band students and the wildcat band boosters will be taking orders from Nov. 4- Nov. 23, 2009. Fruit will be available for pick-up at the school in the band room on Friday, Dec. 4, 2009.
A full case contains 50 to 56 oranges or 30 to 35 grapefruit and sells for $30.00. A half case contains 25 to 28 oranges or 15 to 20 grapefruit and sells for $20.00. New this year are mixed full cases selling for $35.00 and mixed half cases selling for $25.00.
