Virginia Reader's Choice at CES

All students at CES can participate in the Virginia Reader's Choice Program. The main purpose of the program is to read for pleasure. The program will end in March. For the lists of books and more information, click on:http://www.vsra.org/VRCindex.html

Grades K-1: Mrs. D'Amato will read all 10 primary books to the students in the library. After reading each book, the students will rate the book from 1-5 on a poster. At the end of reading all 10 books, the students will vote for their overall favorite.

Grades 2-3: Classroom teachers will read all 10 primary books to their students and rate each book from 1-5 on a poster. After reading all 10 books, the students will vote for their overall favorite.


Grades 4-6: 4th and 5th grade students will hear booktalks in the library on the elementary level books. 6th grade students will hear booktalks on the middle school level books. Students who choose to participate in the program will be required to read or hear 4 or more books at their level and complete a book form. 6th grade students may choose books from the elementary level and middle school level. Participants will be invited to a voting party in the spring to vote for their overall favorite.
