Group Counseling

The elementary school counseling program offers small group counseling sessions for all students. These groups are provided to students to support their educational experience through activities that enhance their personal/social development and academic progress. Students can refer themselves for counseling, or can be referred by a parent or a teacher. Counseling groups are scheduled to meet thirty minutes each week for a 6-8 week period. Parents will be notified in writing if a student is recommended to participate in a group.

Groups are offered to address a wide variety of student needs including:
  • Self-Esteem
  • Anger Management
  • Changing Families (parental divorce or separation)
  • Study Skills (organization, listening skills, time management, etc.)
  • Friendship and Social Skills
  • Grief and Family Illness
Please contact Ms. Flannagan or Mrs.Surak if you would like more information about group counseling.
