Music
What is General Music in the Fairfax County Schools?
Music education is an integral part of a child's complete education and enrichment. Through music, children make connections between classroom studies, life experiences, relationships, and emotions. Music touches the souls of children, thereby creating caring, accepting, well-rounded citizens with extraordinary characters.
The Fairfax County Music Program of Studies, organized into four basic strands, corresponds with the Music Standards of Learning for Virginia Public Schools.
