Would you like to know what your first grader is learning at Cardinal Forest Elementary School? In Math, we will learn about patterns, graphing, number sense, counting and computation skills.  Reading strategies are the main emphasis in our classrooms.  “What do I do when I don’t know a word?” You use picture clues, phonics skills, word walls and sounding out. Make sure they read each night by using the Overnight Express.

We will learn about our senses, weather, seasons and leaves. Food chains and life cycles are investigated too.  We will also study many famous Americans, holidays and economics.

Our goal is to do hard things and have fun when you are learning!
