Monticello

    Monticello is the home of Thomas Jefferson, our third president. It is located in Charlottesville, VA. Thomas Jefferson was an architect and designed his own home. He started planning Monticello in 1768 and construction began two years later. When designing Monticello, Jefferson was influenced by Andrea Palladio, an Italian architect. Inside, there is an assortment of Thomas Jefferson's inventions and belongings. Some of his inventions include a dumbwaiter for wine, disappearing beds and a calendar clock. His walls were too short for the calender clock therefore Saturday is in the basement.
