John Paul Jones

    John Paul Jones was born on July 6, 1747 in a cottage on the estate of his father's employer in Scotland.  At age twelve, John Paul was apprenticed to the sea.  His life by the ocean got him interested in the sea.  He was apprenticed to Mr. Young who sent him on his first voyage to Virginia.  He was a Naval Hero in the American Revolution and sunk many ships.  He died in 1792.
