Mesas are flat topped
table shaped hills. They are located in deserts, but some of them
are located in Antartica. There isn't much rain in a desert but there is
a lot of wind. Mesas are formed by erosion. The word mesa comes
from the Spanish word for table. Mesa are related to buttes,but they
are much larger. Buttes are like a small mesa.
