The GT program at Bush Hill is designed to service all students in grades 4-6 within the classroom and selected students, grades 3-6, outside of the classroom.

All students in grades 4-6 are regularly exposed to GT content through whole class lessons/activities that are done directly in the regular classroom in conjunction with the general education teacher.  Students are given the opportunity to apply higher level thinking skills to content that is already being studied in the classroom.  By exposing all students in grades 4-6 to higher level thinking skills, students are encouraged to go above and beyond the regular curriculum and connect content learned in class to larger ideas and concepts.

Identified students are selected to participate in a GT pull-out program.  Through this format students have an opportunity to explore related curriculum areas through hands on projects where students can interact with larger ideas/concepts that tie in with the general education curriculum.  All students are reviewed yearly for inclusion in this program.

The GT Center program that is offered through FCPS is a full-time placement that accelerates the curriculum in all four core curriculum areas.  The GT Center for Bush Hill is located at Springfield Estates Elementary.  For more information on the Center program and to get all necessary application forms and deadlines please visit: http://www.fcps.edu/DIS/gt/index.htm
