Introduction
Welcome !! Bucknell Elementary School has a tremendous variety of ways in which we encourage our children to grow and learn. Field trips, hands on exploration, visits by area artists, assemblies by professional organizations, school-wide participation in activities that corollate with classroom studies, as well as the traditional book learning, keep the school humming with the sounds of children, happily occupied with the business of learning.

West Potomac Marching Band
A visit by the WP Marching Band is a great way to encourage our students to begin now to learn how to play an instrument . Music is a joy that lasts a lifetime!.
Gunston Hall Field Trip - September 17, 2004

Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project ... October 20,2004
For the past two years the GT and Young Scholars groups have visited the construction site for the new bridge. It is an exciting project to watch.

Architect Project . . 2003/2004 school year
A group of fifth and sixth graders studied with Mr. Steve of the American INstitute of Architects of Northern Virginia. Their after school club was a huge success.
Sixth Grade Mock Trial .... Each year
Bucknell's partners NOBLE work with sixth graders each year to present a trial involving some well known children story characters.
