Technology at Bucknell Elementary is used by all of the staff. Each teacher and specialist has been given a laptop through the Fairfax County Public Schools Elementary Laptop Initiative. These laptops serve as the teacher's computer workstation, computer demonstration equipment, and they can take it home for continued use for instructional planning and professional development.

Bucknell has a laptop computer lab that is used by the teachers and the School Based Technology Specialist for a variety of lessons. Also there are 2 mobile laptop labs with 16 laptop computers each.
Networked printers are conveniently located throughout the building (Color LaserJet printers and black & white LaserJets) for the staff and students to print to.

Each K-6 classroom at Bucknell has an interactive whiteboard (SmartBoard) to integrate technology and enhance the lessons. This has been a real motivator for both teachers and students. There are 2 LearnStar (mobile) stations, each with 20 keypads. This is mainly used for SOL test review and practice.

The preschool/Headstart, Kindergarten and 1st grade classrooms each have 2 Waterford stations-an Early Reading program that is customized for each students' ability and need.

Special Math and ESOL software are used on a daily basis for different groups of students for effective instruction.

Additionally, each classroom has a large screen TV. These are used to display videos/DVDs, programs broadcast from the school TV studio (in the library), and cable channels.
