Mr. Grear, general music teacher, can be counted on to be involved in all events at Bucknell. New to our faculty we welcome
our Strings Teacher, Latoya LamonsSlocumb.

Mr. Christopher Sigleton is excited and working hard to continue Bucknell Elementary's strong band tradition. 

Bucknell follows the Fairfax County Program of Studies to musically educate our children. The areas we concentrate on are singing, music reading, movement, listening and improvisation. We encourage all our students to become deeply involved and give all of them opportunities to showplace their talents.

Mr. Ellery Grear is Bucknell's "Sound Man." He was instrumental in composing Bucknell's school song that follows:

Bucknell School is number one
We learn a lot and have some fun!!!
All the students here are cool.
We learn to follow every rule.
We are better than all the rest,
All the way to the open west.
We work so hard, we try and try,
We will succeed and that's no lie.

The West Potomac Marching Band each year visits Bucknell and gets Bucknell students excited to sign up to learn an instrument and to join band.
