Parent Center News

I can’t believe we are already in the middle of the school year.  It has been a wonderful challenge for me to be the Coordinator of the Parent Center.  In the beginning, when I started putting the center together, decorating it to create a welcoming environment you were always on my mind.  I have enjoyed collecting a variety of materials and resource information for you, as well as planning and organizing workshops for you.   Our Friday parent coffees have included lively and festive discussions on a variety of topics.  Always, the goal is to share or discuss useful and important information for the academic development and success of your child.


We have been working on our basic computer classes and basic Spanish/English skills.  These classes have been great in helping parents acquire the tools necessary to continue in achieving greater academic knowledge. Many of you have stopped by and visited the Center.  It is wonderful to see so many new and old faces.  But I still miss seeing many of you.  I realize the cold weather can be a factor and many of you are busy working parents that can’t make it to our Friday Coffee meetings.  Still it is important to me that you receive the helpful resources and tips discussed during our meetings.  Please allow me to provide these to you even though you may not have been at a meeting.  I can either provide you with a hard or soft copy of the material.  Just let me know which topic is of interest to you and in which way you would like for me to provide the information to you.

The Parent Center is open to all parents and care givers of students of  Bucknell Elementary School.

The Center is open Mon-Fri from 9:00am to 4:00 pm

The school Parent Liaison office is located in the Parent Center.
