West Potomac Marching Band
Thanks to our band director, Ms. Ammirati, Bucknell has been fortunate to experience an unscheduled visit by the West Potomac Band. The band arrived in five buses, and a very disciplined group of high school musicians marched to the black top at the back of the school. The students and faculty were entertained with a demonstration by the full band along with the flag twirlers, similar to the type of program they perform at football games. The director then demonstrated how each of the instruments in the band was played and how it sounded.
This was a such a wonderful way to encourage Bucknell students to start learning an instrument now. As Mr. Steve Rice said,"Truly, music somehow magically makes the brain grow and as a result it helps us in all the other academic areas."
