Sharamaine Williams

Ms. Williams has been an active member of the educational community throughout her entire career. She began her career in Richmond City Public Schools starting out as an instructional assistant and then served as a classroom teacher, a school-based administrator, as well as Director of Curriculum Instruction for a public charter school. While the majority of Ms. Williams’ time has been with Fairfax County Public Schools, her wealth of knowledge from multiple school districts spanning across Maryland, Virginia, and the Washington DC Metro area has allowed her to share her wide range of experiences and expertise to colleagues, parents, and students.

In addition to her service in public education, Ms. Williams served as an Area Program Manager for a leading global educational organization. She worked closely to bring about positive outcomes for Early Childhood education, before and after school programs, as well as online instruction. Ms. Williams is proud to be an active volunteer in several national and community service organizations.  She also has a special interest in military connected families and foster care children.

Assistant Principal

Amanda Baxter

Ms. Baxter graduated from Elmira College in Elmira, New York, earning a degree in both Elementary Education and Psychology.  She began her teaching career in Shelby, North Carolina, and taught fifth grade for a few years before moving to Northern Virginia.  Ms. Baxter began teaching fourth grade at Bren Mar Park in 2002.   While teaching at BMP, she earned her master’s in New Professionalism Studies: Teaching from George Mason University. She then successfully completed FCPS’ Accelerated Certification Cohort, which allowed her to earn her administration certification from the University of Virginia.  In 2008 Ms. Baxter took all of her knowledge, skills, and love for children from her classroom to the position of assistant principal.  Ms. Baxter believes that by focusing on the positives and successes allows students to maximize their educational experience.  She also likes to take advantage of every teachable moment allowing students to grow to their fullest potential.

In addition to her service in public education, Ms. Baxter loves baking and travelling. She is currently only 12 states away from completing her goal of visiting all 50 states!
