Morning News PhotoStory of Heritage Night Close to home ~ Lucky us!
The morning news program is broadcast each morning over closed circuit TV. A team of six 5th grade students take turns operating the camera, PA, music systems and delivering the announcements and a brief topic for the day.

Safety Patrols Math Podcasts-Test Taking Strategies Research
Responsible fourth and fifth grade students are selected to serve as Braddock's safety patrols. They are instrumental in the smooth transition of students as they arrive and depart from school.

Student Council Character Day 2010 Math
The student council is an executive group which can be described as the "heart and soul" of the school. Its membership includes all students in the school, the classroom representatives, the S.C.A. elected officers, the committee chairpersons, the faculty sponsors, and the principal.

Strings Authors & Artists ~ Spring 2010 Reading

Braddock Elementary School children in 4th and 5th grades, have the opportunity to join the strings program. The strings program offers free 45 minute lessons once a week to students interested in studying violin, viola, cello, or bass. Many students have participated in Solo/Ensemble Festival and have received Outstanding ratings. The students perform for the school and families in the spring.

Band Thanksgiving Lunch & Walk-a-Thon SOL Review
In Fairfax County Public Schools students are allowed to join Band in the 5th grade. At Braddock all of the 5th grade classes attend a Band demonstration assembly during the first week of school, where they are introduced to the instruments. Each student has a group lesson once a week. At the end of the year the students perform in their first concert.

Veterans Day was a special day with so many visitors joining us for lunch followed by our 1st Annual Walk-a-Thon. Click on the picture below to see the pictures.
