The goals of the Parent-Teacher Association are to promote the growth, development and education of our children in home, school and community and to facilitate communication between parents, teachers, administrators and the community at large. PTA meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. All parents are encouraged to attend.

If you are interested in helping with any of these committees, please feel free to contact the chairperson. If you would like to volunteer for an unfilled position, or have an interest in starting a program that is not listed, please contact the PTA president.
The PTA supports the school in the following ways:
Funds enrichment programs such as field trips and cultural assemblies
Supports and sponsors parent education programs such as Parent Education Potluck
Provides funds for school and teacher equipment
Provides support for teachers through funding and volunteers in the classroom
Offers eligible students scholarships to defray tuition costs for enrichment programs
Operates a School Supply Closet for underpriveledged students
Arranges after-school programs such as foreign language and basketball programs
Provides assistance in the library
Sponsors and operates two book fairs
Provides volunteer support for Field Day, Thanksgiving lunch, Science Exposition and other events
Sponsors and operates community and family events such as the Fall and Spring Picnics
Administers the Giant/Safeway receipts collection program and GM Boxtop collection program which provide funds and technological enhancements for the school
Sponsors special evenings such as Showcase Night
Develops and supports educational initiatives such as PTA Reflections program, Read Across America and Earth Day events
Coordinates room-parent volunteers
Publishes a monthly school calendar of events and monthly school newsletter
Publishes a student directory
Provides childcare alternatives for PTA meetings and Back-to-School Night.
