Chris Stunkard is Beech Tree's counselor. She provides many different services to both the school and community. Her role is three-fold: Counselor, Coordinator, and Consultant. She works with individuals, small groups or guidance groups. Her job is to assure every student success both socially and academically in school. Parents many times consult with Ms. Stunkard about their child's school behavior and progress in school.

Here are the programs Ms. Stunkard helps to initiate at Beech Tree to help teachers, students and families:

PALS Mentoring Program: Parents mentor and tutor students in the classrooms

Welcoming Committee: Trained students in each classroom help welcome new students to Beech Tree.

News Program: 5th grade students run the early morning show with the Pledge of Allegiance and announcements.

Parent Programs: Encourage parents to become partners in their child's education and provide tips for positive parenting.

Lead Mentor: Provide mentors to teachers new to FCPS.
