While
some basic keyboarding instruction is introduced at the elementary
level, it’s a great idea to further this at home to
keep bad habits from taking hold. Here are some tips to give
your child whenever they have their hands on a computer keyboard:
Always keep fingers on the
home keys.( Left Hand: asdf Right Hand: jkl;) Thumbs rest
on the space bar.
Type with ALL 10 fingers.
Sit with good posture and feet flat on the floor
Look at the screen and not the keyboard while typing. (Try
laying a small towel over your child’s hands while they
are typing)
Take frequent breaks
Practice makes perfect
