Audio-Visual Lab
About the lab
The Audio-Visual Lab focuses on multimedia projects for all students grades K-5. To accomplish this, students spend much of their time in the Computer Lab learning a variety of software programs to work with. The goal of the program is for students to feel comfortable enough with the available resources to inquire, create and connect with all they must learn. In part, we will use technology to teach to the students (United Streaming, Type2Learn, Pixie, etc.); We will use technology to teach with (Photostory, Powerpoint, Publisher, WebBlender, etc.); We will also use technology to assess student understanding of content and their mastery of the digital world in which they live.
One of our goals this year is to transition to a once per week news program featuring a variety of topics researched, scripted, produced and edited by 4th and 5th grade students. As the students are learning this aspect of the program, they are also responsible for producing results from the integrated curriculum. It is our plan to have a news magazine program on-air this school year.
Video Conferencing - by grade level
Plans are underway to move the Distance Learning Lab from its current location to the Audio-Visual Lab. It is our hope to be able to reconnect by the end of the 3rd quarter, 2007-2008
