Neil Armstrong Elementary School has been recognized by The Virginia State Board of Education with the Board of Educational Excellence Award. This honorable award is presented to schools that meet and exceed the state and federal accountability benchmarks for two consecutive years and made significant progress toward higher achievements in each content area: English, mathematics, science, and history/social science. This is the second consecutive year that Armstrong has been awarded the Golden Apple. This award is the first tier in the G.O.L.D.E.N.
