At Annandale Terrace, you will find all four levels of GT service offered by Fairfax County Public Schools:
Level One: At level one, all students participate in Response or Model Thinking lessons designed to promote critical and creative thinking.
Level Two: Differentiated instruction is available for students in grades K-5 who need extensions to the regular curriculum.
Level Three: We offer a school-based GT program for students in grades 3 5 who have advanced abilities in one or more subject areas. Students have opportunities to develop academic strengths through a more rigorous and challenging program in identified subject areas.
Level Four:
Annandale
Terrace has a school-based GT Center for students in grades 3 5 who need a full time, highly challenging instructional program in all core subjects.
We are also a Young Scholars School. Young Scholars is a K-6 initiative that is designed to increase the proportion of historically underrepresented students in gifted programs. School administrators, teachers, and the GT specialist work together to find and nurture gifted potential in young learners. Through differentiated instruction and intersession, students are provided an educational setting that raises their personal expectations and prepares them for more challenging and rigorous courses as they advance in grade level.
