Electronics

Grades: 9-12 Credit: one

Students explore career fields in electricity and electronics. The course includes information on electrical and electronic theory and applications, computers aided instructions and circuit simulation, components, circuitry troubleshooting, use of test instruments and lab training devices, consumer information, and career opportunities. The course covers the fundamentals of basic electronics through complex A.C. and D.C. circuitry. Students interested in engineering or related careers will benefit from the course.

The Truth About this Class:

Small group activities students need to work well together
Learn from doing focus is on hands on activities
Some math required basics are important and lots of support given for those who lack the necessary math skills
New lab activities influx of new materials creates many new opportunities
Not all electronics some lamp and small appliance skills, some house wiring
Oh my gosh notebook, tests, and written work (but little homework)
