NHS Service

Service is an important part of membership in the National Honor Society. Each semester members are required to complete 10 hours of service according to their contract which must be pre-approved. New inductees are required to complete 5 hours of service. Due dates for each form are listed on the Calendar Page.

Directions

• Click the Community Service Contract and type your name, grade level and choose either Fall or Spring to indicate the semester of service (delete the other).
• Type your community service plan to include a defined objective in the box provided.
• Print out the contract and have your sponsor review the plan, sign and complete the required information.
• After you obtain the supervisor’s signature bring your plan to the NHS Advisor for approval.
• It is strongly recommended that you obtain approval before starting your service.
• As soon as you have completed your service, print a copy of the NHS Service Validation form and give it to your supervisor requesting that he/she write a note about your service and sign the NHS Service Validation form. You can only turn in your Service Validation form at the monthly membership meetings.
