Membership Application for the Fall of 2011

 

Directions: Please complete both sections of the application.  Be sure to include all that may enhance your chances of acceptance, especially in the areas of leadership and community service. You should provide all relevant information before submitting your application because the completion of this form does not guarantee selection. All the information you provide will be used by the Faculty Council to assist them in the candidate selection process. 

  1. This application has two parts; Part A is the Character Essay and Part B is your resume from Family Connections.

  3. Part A is an essay to be delivered to Ms. Raffaelli in Student Services by 2:30pm on Wednesday, October 26th.  Anything sent after the deadline will not be accepted, with no exceptions

  5. Part  B is your resume. A sample can be found on Family Connections.
  6.  
  7. Your school attendance and disciplinary records will be reviewed as part of the selection criteria.

 

  1. Within twenty four (24) hours of dropping off your application, you should receive an email from Ms. Raffaelli.  This is your receipt. 

 

Part A:   Character Essay
Your Character Essay should be one page using twelve (12) point font in Times New Roman.  The Faculty Committee is not interested in a definition of character but in what character means to you as well as how you have demonstrated character. Be sure to give specific examples of how you have demonstrated character.  Both your writing ability and the content of your essay will be considered.  Please include a coversheet with your full name, grade and email address.


 

Part B:  Activity Sheet Instructions
Leadership and Community Service are the two most important factors concerning your admission into NHS; however, your entire resume will be taken into consideration. Please list your leadership experiences and your community service.  In all resume categories please be as specific and detailed as possible. You may use the one on Family Connections, but are not required to. If you choose to use the resume on on Family Connections, it must be printed and delivered with your essay.
