What is Community and Service?

Community and Service is an important component of the IBMYP. All students are encouraged to perform community and service. Those students pursuing an MYP Certificate or Record of Achievement must complete the community and service hours required by each school.

 

Hour Requirements

Students at Annandale High School who wish to achieve the FCPS IB MYP Certificate must participate in 25 hours of service learning or 3 significant reflections per year. Students may include hours accumulated for other service organizations

 

Community and Service Opportunities

At Annandale we have several opportunities for students to contribute to their Annandale community. Students can earn hours through participation in service based clubs such as Key Club and Interact Club. They can also earn hours by recycling after school with our Environment Club. Students also help others by offering tutoring services.
