Mrs. Esslinger earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics Education from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.  She completed Master’s level work at the University of Dayton, Miami University and Bowling Green University, all in Ohio.  She is certified to teach pre-k through 12th grade and before joining the staff at Annandale High School was teaching kindergarten at another school in Fairfax County.  Mrs. Esslinger firmly believes that the electives offered by the Family and Consumer Science department are some of the most important classes offered at AHS.  These are the classes that prepare students for life.

Robin Griffin graduated from Radford University with a degree in Elementary Education, and earned a Masters' Degree in Initiatives in Educational Transformation from George Mason University. Ms.Griffin spent three years living in Germany and traveled much of Europe, enjoying the style, food and diversity of the European cultures. Ms.Griffin is a life long learner and believes in challenging herself. After thirteen years in the elementary classroom, Ms.Griffin became certified to teach Family and Consumer Science.

 

Ms.Griffin decided to teach Family and Consumer Science because she feels it most relates to each student. She hopes to challenge students to explore new ideas and create big dreams for themselves. She is very excited to join the Annandale High School team.
