International Foods and Hospitality


Grade:  10-12                       Credit:  ½           Lab Fee: $35.00


This class is the second semester of Gourmet Foods.  Now armed with basic cooking skills, the students apply their knowledge to International and American regional cuisines and cultures of the world.  By planning, preparing, and serving specific foods students explore the cultural, political, economic, and nutritional issues related to the food choices of other people.  They also enjoy the added challenge of preparing more advanced and complicated dishes.  This class gives students the opportunity to expand their horizons and taste new foods and flavor combinations. 


Students completing Gourmet Foods with a “B” or better may be eligible to articulate up to 2 credits at Stratford University.
