Gourmet and International Foods

Two Semesters / 1 Credit
Grade:  10-12

Lab Fee:  $70.00 (see note below)

This is a very popular class in which students learn basic cooking technique that are practiced in our kitchen lab. Students work in kitchen groups and eat what they make in a family style setting, sharing the responsibilities of cooking and cleaning up. Money saving tips and food preparation, basic safety, sanitation, and nutrition, and equipment use and identification are integral to the course. During the second semester, students embark on an international exploration of some of the cultures and cuisines of the world. This gives students the opportunity to expand their horizons and taste new foods and flavor combinations. This class is designed to be practical for every student.
