Marymount University PDS Program
|
Over the past twelve years and since the start of this school year, Marymount University has provided interns to Aldrin Elementary from their Professional Development Schools (PDS) Program to work with our students and teachers. Five interns are currently working in Aldrin classrooms and will remain with us through the end of the first semester, with new interns joining our staff for the second semester when the five interns move on to another FCPS school. The PDS is an accelerated degree program that gives interns a full school year of hands-on experiences in a variety of classroom settings while taking classes towards their Masters in Education degree and Virginia licensure. Aldrin Elementary and FCPS are grateful to Marymount University for being our Partners in Education. Some of Aldrin's current teachers are graduates of this program. Our combined efforts support the professional growth of aspiring educators and we are pleased to have this worthwhile and important program at Aldrin. |
