Aldrin Elementary is an award winning school! For three consecutive years, in 2008, 2009, and 2010, we have been recognized by Governor Kaine and The Virginia State Board of Education with the Board of Education Excellence Award. This award is presented to schools that have met all state and federal accountability benchmarks for at least two consecutive years and made significant progress toward Governor Kaine's goal for increased student achievement and expanded educational opportunity. Aldrin is also the proud recipient of a Red Apple Wellness Award for our effort to promote wellness in school and in the community. The Wellness Award is based on the wellness policy adopted by the Fairfax County School Board to promote student health and contribute to the reduction of childhood obesity. |
